CE CAT 1 and EN ISO 13688:2013 are standards and regulations that apply to protective clothing used in work environments:
CE CAT 1 Regulation: This regulation establishes the basic safety requirements for protective clothing used in low-risk work environments.
CAT 1 protective clothing generally includes items such as high-visibility clothing, basic flame-retardant clothing, or clothing that helps protect against minor hazards such as minor chemical splashes, moderate heat, or minor abrasion.
EN ISO 13688:2013: This is a European standard that establishes general requirements for protective clothing. Provides guidelines on general aspects of the design, manufacture and use of protective clothing, regardless of risk category.
EN ISO 13688:2013 covers aspects such as clothing size and ergonomics, mechanical strength requirements, chemical protection properties, labeling and instructions for use. In addition, it establishes criteria to evaluate the suitability and performance of protective clothing in relation to foreseeable risks.
