The Karlowsky brand originated over 120 years ago.
In 1892 he founded the Karlowsky- Augusto Karlowsky factory in a village of Magdeburg,
intended to wool and its derivatives.
Small business was well represented in the surrounding markets for their products wooden carts transported from one place to another. Even then, the name Karlowsky was synonymous with high quality products.
Back in 1936, the scepter passed to the next generation and Frieda and Hermann Karlowsky couple onwards happen to have the last word. Under his leadership, the business evolved into a wholesale company in continuous growth. They are manufactured in our own factories. Through technical progress and optimization of processes, the manufactured range soon gained in diversity. Following World War II, the production facilities were destroyed in the center of Magdeburg on January 16, 1945. What remains is a retail business and a small local company that only allow the couple to produce a type of apron. Until 1973 productivity is expropriated by the government of the GDR. A commission agreement between Frieda and state regulates Karlowsky from now the survival of the company.
After the death of Frieda Karlowsky business property is inherited from the mother and aunt of the current owner. After the death of his mother in 1974, Thomas Karlowsky, only 14 years, take the inheritance from his mother until 1989.
In 1990, the new beginning: Thomas Karlowsky is responsible for the production of piping bags and rubber aprons and announces the lease with the state enterprise of the GDR. With the introduction of the D-Mark and the difficult economic conditions in the new states related market falters. Still, there is no lack of innovation: The product range is extended and used in fairs and exhibitions as networking opportunities for future customers. The waiter brush is discovered as a gap in the market and begins its production and sales. Is the recipe for success, it will get a little later, with the garment of work. This desire leads to Thomas Karlowsky to submit in 1994 its first sales catalog with a wide range of workwear and accessories for the hospitality and food industry. With perseverance and vision, he manages to position your company as one of the top names in professional fashion.
2008 will be the name change automatically from Karlowsky GmbH & Co.KG in Karlowsky Fashion GmbH. The company headquarters moved to Hohendodeleben, to provide greater storage capacity for further expansion.
