The history of the Italian manufacturer dates back to 1938 - post-war period - where in a small workshop in Barletta (Italy) shoes are manufactured with soles made from military truck tires and instep that are recycled from military uniforms.
The production in the origins were not more than ten pairs that were sold daily to nearby markets. However, the initiative and the passion of its founder soon turned this small store into a company that manufactured more than one hundred daily pairs sold throughout Italy.
In 1983 it takes the name of COFRA and is currently managed by the son of the founder, who started the process of internationalization of the company. Its continuous growth is the result of a very attentive business management that has made the company leader in the sector of the safety footwear sector for professional use, being a recognized and established brand in Europe and worldwide.
As of 2004, the diversification and expansion of the product range begins, with almost 3,000 direct employees and 7,000 auxiliaries currently, and 15,000 daily pairs of protective footwear, as well as work clothes and protective equipment.
Cofra engineers and designers result in the best safety footwear, through constant research into new technologies and quality control. They combine the technical and regulatory aspects (EN ISO 20345) with comfort, design and style.
